Causes:
Performing Stars of Marin, a non profit which works with the youth of Marin City to help them have opportunities in the arts, has long been one of the beneficiaries of the Narada Michael Walden Foundation.
Last year, Narada produced a sold out concert at Grace Cathedral to raise money for Angela Bofill, one of the greatest singers of all time, whose life and lively hood were devastated by two major strokes. Carlos Santana, Bonnie Raitt and the great Mary Wilson along with a host of other great talent joined Narada at Grace Cathedral to raise over $70,000.00.
Next year, on May 25th, 2009, The Narada Michael Walden Foundation will produce a concert at Grace Cathedral to benefit young Christopher Rodriguez, who at age 10, was disabled by a stray bullet while at his piano lesson in Oakland early this year. The Concert at Grace Cathedral for Christopher will feature Sting along with one of the greatest opera singers ever, Kathleen Battle. Also performing will be the great Tevin Campbell, amazing vocalist Shanice Wilson, and the Narada Band along with many other great performers.
A beautiful acoustic Epiphone guitar donated by Gibson Guitars and autographed by Carlos Santana, Bonnie Raitt, Mary Wilson and all the performers from the Angela Bofill benefit will be auctioned off at the December 13, Holiday Jam's After Party Dinner Buffet that evening at D'Angelos Restaurant.
